Mt Hope Bridge in RI Closed to Bikes?
I recently saw a sign on this bridge saying no bikes. WTF?! Scary as this bridge is its even scarier to take another 20 miles and go through that poo-hole dump of Fall River. Why this change, anyone know why bikes are banned now?
Still considering going across regardless but curious to know what the "punishment" or infraction would be and what the fine amounts to or if this is just a Bridge Authority recommendation that has no teeth. Looking for input into the why and how of the situation.
Many thanks

I saw the signs go up, I don't see anything different, the signs don't look official. I've going over it for over 30 years. People drive like jerks now and it requires bunny hops many a grown man wouldn't ride over it. I checked the RI bridge and turnpike website and there isn't anything. I just take the bus over it $2.00 or for me a buck I'm old. If I had to I would just ride over it there are few police sightings by me. Now I tailor my rides so I can take the bus and enjoy the AC back to Newport.
