"Tack" victim?
Yesterday morning (Sunday 1/6) I took a nice long leisurely ride up the west side Greenway in Manhattan, over the GB Bridge & up the Palisades. It was great weather & I started so early, the only big packs of riders I saw were when I turned around & headed back south.
Getting back onto the Greenway, I noticed my rear tire felt a little soft. This was somewhere around west 70th. I took a quick look & the tire seemed fine. When I got back home I noticed a huge tack in the rear wheel, that I missed somehow.
Has anyone else picked up tacks on the Westside lately? I know a bunch of people reported this was going on last summer & fall. Maybe I just picked up a leftover tack.
(Incidently, I got distracted, forgot to take out the tack, headed off to work in a rush this am & remembered the thing was there only as I pulled into my bike space. Remarkably, even with a tack in the tire, the tube held about 70 psi.)

Considering how heavily traveled the Westside Greenway is it seems unlikely a tack might be left over from last summer. More likely the "tackster" is up to old tricks again
