I don't mind starting earlier, but I was thinking about the people who have to travel a bit to get to the ride.

But, if everyone happens to be there a little early, we don't have to sit around waiting until 10 to start.

Just a quick hello, I was recruited by Jessica over in ladyland and will plan to be there to keep her company for ca. 45 miles. I'll be skimming back through for deets, but feel free to PM if you'd like me to bring any foodage . Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I'm liking this picnic idea more and more.

Looks like all the guys on the 62 and me and all the ladies on the 45.

I like those percentages.

I'm de-lurking to say that I might be in.

Might.

And if I do, it's for the 62.

Depends on a lot of variables.

Ok, it's getting close, and I assume everyone is still in for the ride(s). If anyone is out, please let me know so we can get a good guess on how many pizzas to order. I'm thinking 1 large pizza for every 2 riders. Sound about right? So I'd order 5 for our current group, maybe 6 to be safe. We also have chips and nuts and other sundry items.

I'm thinking of doing 1/3 of the pizzas veggie, 1/3 of them meat, and 1/3 of them plain cheese. The idea is to call the pizza place near the end of the ride to place the order, then by the time we got back and got to the place, they'd be ready.

Unacceptable!

Wish you could make it man. Maybe next year (if it goes well, we plan to do it annually). Have fun at work while we zoom along in the cool summer breeze

btw everyone, the forecast calls for sun and 74 degrees on Sat.

I am physically ill with jealousy. Have a great ride. As you glide along, enjoying the air, the sun, the road, someone, somewhere, will be seething and writhing in envy. Take comfort in that.

I may need to be in Newington by 4 pm. Will ride the 45 mile if I do and the 62 if I don't.

One additional thing to keep in mind is the fact that the Michael P. Murad Memorial Road Race is taking place this Saturday on a lot of the popular roads in the Poolesville area, including Hughes, Sugarland, Partnership, and River Roads. They'll be running the races starting at 8:00 AM, and will finish sometime before 3:30 PM.

Just so's y'all know. I'm now in the "maybe/iffy" category for coming out to the ride, as I'm adjusting to a loaner bike right now (broke my frame last weekend up in Pennsylvania) and need to do a bit more mechanical forensics to get things in shape for Sunday's PPTC century.

That's really bloody annoying, especially since I've seen this race before and they are second to no one when it comes to boogering up the roads.

I need to check the race route, but hopefully we won't be on those roads til later in the day.

EDIT: Yeah, we'll miss it completely.

There's a possibility I might not be able to make it out tomorrow, due to child care issues. I'll know more certainly this afternoon/evening.

Oh no! I may be questionable too. I just got a call that the top of a large tree on my front lawn fell. I'm not sure if top means a branch or two or half a tree. So I maybe doing some cleaning up Saturday (the landfill in not open Sunday).

I haven't got any directions yet and I have questonable computer access at home.

So if I don't get soemthing by 3ish I guess I'm out.

Maybe I can watch gurana's kid. Is he good with a chain saw?

Bill
