Maine's Kennebec River Rail Trail: What do you think?
 

The Kennebec River Rail Trail, or KRRT, is one of Maine's multiple use paths located in the Kennebec River Valley in the Central Maine towns of Augusta, Hallowell, Farmingdale, and Gardiner. Unlike MUP's that are converted from abandoned railroad lines (rails-to-trails), it runs alongside and occaisionally crosses an inactive railroad spur (rails-with-trails) that the state hopes to put back into service.

While it took years of efforts and funding, the trail is now complete and I understand a number of people now actively use it. As the weather gets colder, I imagine some hearty souls might walk or brave it on their bicycles. When winter and snow arrive some might even snowshoe or ski.

I haven't had the chance to use it yet. For those of you who have, what do you think of it?
