Stolen Vitus Carbone 9 NYC Astor Pl

I am posting this for my friend who's bike was stolen outside his office yesterday in the off chance someone may identify it. Details below:

My Bike (Vitus Carbone 9)was stolen on Lafayette near Astor Pl by a fairly intelligent ******bag. Its not a common frame so, if you see it, there is a decent chance that its mine. It could be taped up, or someone might have just stripped the parts off of it. Either way, if you could keep an eye out, I'd really appreciate it.

Some identifying marks:
— Vitus is nearly worn off, Carbone 9 almost invisible.
— Yellow "Bikes By George" sticker near the bottom bracket.
— Still has gear levers, but no gears.
— Massive Kryptonite lock still wrapped around the frame (?)

This may be pretty obvious to most of you, but if you're ever thinking about locking your bike up to scaffolding, make sure that the scaffolding can't simply be unbolted and disassembled. I was in a hurry and it didn't dawn on me.

Thanks in advance.

That's too bad.

In general I don't leave my bikes locked up anywhere out of my sight in NYC or anywhere else.

sad...i feel for you.
my bike (1972 atala, rebuilt to tour and commute, owned from 1978 to 1995) was "removed". it was double locked, out of sight, in locked shed. goes to show: if the will is there, there is a way...
good luck finding it!
