Good places to ride in the DC area?
 

I'm staying down in Dahlgren for the next couple weeks. I've got a truck, a GPS, and a bike, and enough gas to get anywhere reasonably nearby. I'd like to hit 20 miles or so of scenic trails this weekend or next... any ideas?

I either ride over from my house (another 5 miles each way) or park in a Church lot just off rt 3. A 1 mile section of Twiford Road is gravel. I ride a cyclocross bike with 700x32 tires - if you are on road tires you might prefer to skip that part. As you return to the start you will pass Ingleside winery - nice spot to stop for wine tasting. An alternative route to the same area is to park at the Westmoreland Berry Farm and ride out to the route from there - you will see Berry Farm Lane just northwest of Leedsville on the map (up 637 - Rappahannock Road).
