Boston: where the only safe way to ride is with guides and armed security
Kidding, I might hop in on this because I'm a sucker for free food and will be riding regardless.

I was thinking that it was more like a Critical Mass but without smelly hipsters ... though, on that note, it does look like the July date does coincide with the July CM, so it might be an interesting experience for someone to ride to work with a police escort, then ride home as part of Critical Mass.

I'm all in favor of publicity promoting communiting to potential riders and reminding car drivers to share the road. Given gas prices, I hope some PR loot is saved for safe, secure bike parking at train and trolley stops.

Made the trip, snacking on a mini cliff bar now. My bike has been stranded at work the past few days as with the fun storms I've been running back and forth rather than soaking it. This morning I ran in early, changed and rode downtown. A fair number of people were around, including bike officers. Got a kick out of the several people who obviously didn't bike who walked up to snag food, oddly they didn't speak english when the point of the thing was made to them.
