Looking at the forecast for the next week, a road ride before Christmas is looking highly unlikely.

The Spinning bike has now become my sanity. Rode a 90-minute class on Sunday, and will be leading a 2-hour class next Sunday, in addition to the shorter weekday rides.

Maybe we'll get all of our winter weather over with in December, and January forward will be better.

It could happen.

Woke up to an inch and a half of snow/sleet/slop. Just wonderful.
Riding the trainer is not my idea of fun, but it has to be done....
Can't wait for spring!

We got about 3" in Maynard. My kids refuse the wear gloves & hats. I finally put our bikes in the basement last weekend. Snow forecast for Friday is 8"-14"! AGH! Where is April? I can hardly believe it ever gets warm around here and that I can commute home from work shirtless and burn in the SUN!!!

Our company is moving in January so my commute will change & shorten from 17 miles to maybe 13. I'll have a better shot at commuting more. I only did 1 full week this summer. Mostly just did between 1 & 3 days through the spring and summer.

Anyone else tempted to bike commute through the storm tomorrow?

We're having the Christmas party in the office tomorrow, and if I understood right, we'll be going home at 2pm (or the party starts at 2pm) Either way, I should be starting home in the daylight.

Just got my cyclocross bike a month ago, and I'm really freakin' tempted to see what she can handle.

Dude, you're crazy! Up here in MA it is supposed to be very cold and fluffy snow - not sure about down by you. We got 3" of wet gloppy stuff yesterday and I wouldn't want to share the roads on a day like that. No shoulders, you know? Plus visibility issues ... Up here we usually lose 2 or 3 people every year to snow plows. They are usually kids walking home from school and elderly people walking at night. Would hate to hear about a cyclist being found a week later in a melted pile of dirty snow. My suggestion, have fun and get intoxicated and get a ride home - then go for a bike ride ride in the snow somewhere safe! Sounds like a blast!

Yeah, you're right. I opted to avoid sharing the roads during friday rush hour.
I'd like to take a ride to the park later when I get home, though. Just for kicks. Been bored lately.

I think I'd rather have the snow than the cold, heavy, gray rain we had here today. One miserable, nasty day. At least the snow is pretty for a while. . .

Two decent days out there, and that pesky thing called "work" got in the way

Hoping to get out tomorrow, but am looking at the forecast of 29 degrees with 25mph winds and thinking I'm not so excited about the prospect.....we'll see.

I was out today for about 20 minutes on my bike looking for a service station that could charge my car battery. This car has been dead for a few months now, and my other car was STOLEN last night from my driveway. Damn. At least I know we don't really need two cars since we haven't had a single time when we both needed a car. In NYC you just don't generally need one.

We're a family of five and we barely fit in the small car we're left with. The stolen one was an older minivan. I know it's a suburban mom's car, but you can easily fit 3 bikes in it without having to even move the seats around or taking wheels off the bike. They could have taken the little car and I wouldn't have cared.

I here ya. That reminds me of when I had a car stolen. The only new one I ever bought. It was a 1987 Toyota 4Runner. I even bought the soft top and drilled holes in it to install it. It was beautiful. 30 days after I bought it I drove to see my folks in Yonkers, where I grew up, and it was stolen 30 feet from my sleeping head overnight. My old man woke me up saying hey didn't you park your truck in the driveway? I ran down and the two os us were in our boxers staring from the front porch at the empty driveway! AGH! I had to take the train home and the A/C unit pissed on me the whole way back to Boston. About a month later I got a call from a police precinct in the south Bronx. They wanted to know if I wanted the license plates they found. I would have to drive down to get them - I told them to keep them.

Car theft, bike theft, etc. stinks whatever the ride. That van that can hold a bunch of bikes sounds wicked useful. Who needs more to do you know? I hope it gets found. I had another 4Runner stolen in Dorchester, MA and it was found 2 days later, a bit roughed up but still good enough to keep. Maybe someone took it for a joyride. You might drive around and see if it was abandoned anywhere. Chances are the kids who stole it live near you and they dropped it not far from where they live. Well, good luck. One foot in front of the other.
