Who's ready for June already?
Short days...sunsets coming way too early (even though they are especially pretty this time of year)...not NEARLY enough time to ride...
Riding in the winter is okay; I'll do it, but it's tough. Character-building. It's the right thing to do to be ready for the Spring/Summer.
June with its longer days, later sunsets, and new life can't get here fast enough!

Let's see...it's cold and windy. I'm sitting here hacking a wheezing with the plague. Between me and my wife, we're making noises like wild animals in the forest. (Barking and wheezing, not the fun kind) Spring cannot come fast enough. I hate winter. Been in New England way too long....

Finally got to my hotel room; I could not get out that plane fast enough. The lirst leg, the fellow sitting next to me had a sneezing fit for 2 hours straight! I estimated about four other people sick around me as well.
I don't mind this time of year as long as I'm outside riding in manageable conditions and I don't have to be around people hacking away, 'cause I may be next...yes I do wish it were June

I too look forward to warmer weather though I do ride in winter, more inside than out, but I do get out.

If I didn't have family here in the Philly burbs, I'd probably be moving south. I guess the upside is that these winters sure make me appreciate spring!

Interesting, I always thought the shortest day was closer to December 21.
January and February seem to be the coldest months though. Aside from a few exceptions, those months are pretty much useless to my life. At least in March there's St. Patrick's Day, the racing begins again in Europe, and we get hints of better weather.

BTW, (and slightly off topic): HG how much and where did you get your ergo levers rebuilt? I have a spare bike to ride and I thought it might be a good time to get the lever on my litespeed done.

In your area, I would recommend Shirk's Bike Shop in East Earl. They rebuilt my levers when I used to live in Lancaster. I wasn't happy with the local (to me) shop who did the work most recently.

Today is pretty damn nice. If there weren't a likelihood of rain, I'd have taken the bike to work today.
But even still, I'm not a big fan of night-riding.

almost 60degF here in the south (nj)!
i have been inside working on school report, so missed it :-(
looked like it would have been a good day to ride!
i don't ride on ice (yet) and avoid snow riding if more than +/-2 inches

It starts looking a lot better in April for me . Last skiing in the Hunter Mtn area around March so that makes me feel real good.

I got out for about 20 miles today. Winter would be much more bearable if there was a 60 degree day every few weeks or so!

Got home, threw the lights on, and went for a quick 5 mile joyride to the shore and back. Didn't even need the gloves or base layers. Wish there were more time in the day...
Ah, well. I'm bike commuting next dry day, cold be damned.

I sat in the Supreme Court building waiting around on jury duty.
The window I sat in front of overlooked the approach to the Brooklyn Bridge
which had a stream of cyclists all day long.
Talk about "eating your heart out".

It seems that on all the warm days I have other commitments to deal with and this past weekend and yesterday were no exception. I just want to do a few loops in the park and I can't even get to that.

Managed 21+ miles today at Base 1 pace in 34* weather... gotta get some decent gloves. Brrr!
Like others, I'll ride outside all winter, but rarely below 32* (except certain conditions); my knees and tendons won't take that. They don't call that temp "freezing" for nothin'.
Aside from unrideable roads, the worst part about winter around here are the relentless winds, which pick up cold over the snow and ice, and then blast right through my layers. I'd buy better gear, but am saving for a better bike!
