Thank you! I will check out the Tandoori Time buffet.
I chased the Ride of Dreams today. I couldn't get in front of them to get them all in the same shot, there were about twenty to thirty in the group. Check out the guy in sandals with his bike shoes in jersey pockets.

Buy a jersey, you know you want one!

I've met that guy on the road. I'm glad he's OK and the trucker got fined $120 for failure to yield.
Quick thinking to go to the police station and lucky the incident happened right across the street from the police station.

^ No I dont... I could walk out of the complex on the corner and see a liquor store on my right across 4th street on the corner and Brownstones across the street. If I went across RI ave and walked, a club called the Maverick Room would be on my left. If I walked further there was a park and BBall court.. at 14 this is were I had my first kiss and witnessed my first violence of one person against another...a stabbing over a disputed foul call in a pick up game. Than a man having a seizure that no one helped including me to my shame....I didnt know what to do than.....I do now in spades. I also remember a pic in this thread that showed the dome of Catholic U. Your pics bring back a lot of memories some bad but mostly good. I hope to one day ride in DC, on the mall would be nice. Thanks for the advice on fitment...I got my deposit back and went to another shop and in 3 months I should have a 2010 7.3fx 20" to ride. I rode my C/L bike yesterday...first 6 miles ever. My neck and perineum hurt like crazy last night. I slept really good, haven't slept like that for years...woke up feeling good no pain at all. Thank you for your guidance and help.

"Monuments by Moonlight" this weekend. PPTC is doing an "official" ride on Saturday, but the forecast is for rain.
I'll probably be in Georgetown for work late Friday, so I want to do the ride that evening.
Anyone want to meet up for it?

Great! I finally get to ride with you.
Sunset is just after 8:00. I don't have a set route, but was thinking of a loop or two of Hains Point to watch the sun smashing into Virgina, then the Mall and monuments.
In case anyone else wants to join us.
7:00 in front of the Lincoln Memorial, center of the East (Reflection Pool) side steps.
Blue Trek hybrid with a rack pack, white tee shirt and silver helmet.

That was a good ride. Riding DC at night is so different than riding in the day.
I'll post my pictures when I finish sorting through them.
qms15 - could I get a digital copy of the photo of me? I have very few shots of me riding.
Probably too late to take advantage of it, but I rode to the Arlington County Fair yesterday and Bike Arlington was giving away good swag-bags of stuff from their tent. Blinkies, bike socks, bottle, coupons for free food, and the bag itself is a good one. Almost went back again today.

Thanks. We're waiting for more of yours, Jeff!
7 of 8 totem poles have been erected on the MTB at Edgewood Plaza.

The low man on that pole is a Metrorail map.
In it's current state, a scene from K St.
K and 15th.

A couple pictures of another totem, "All quiet along the Potomac to-night..."

More new art on the trail.

The lobster roll truck, probably the most popular food truck in DC, appeared to be involved in a small accident. Uniformed lobster truck workers and a few others were in discussions with the police as I rolled by. Meanwhile a line of perhaps thirty people had formed, although the truck was in the middle of the lane, in no position to sell food. The customers used their Blackberrys and iPhones while they patiently waited. A surveyor on the sidewalk waited for the crowd to disperse so he could see his mark.
The truck drove off, but circled around and found a spot as one police car leaves the scene while another is still serving the public here.

Who is last shall become first. The back of the line is now closest to the truck.

Thinking about a tour of Sugarloaf Mountain, South Mountain, and Furnace Mountain Saturday. Leisurely paced. Anyone interested?

Tempting, but we have company coming over in the late afternoon.
Thinking of getting an early start, riding a grand loop "around" DC and ending at DC Scoops at 1:00 for the free ice cream.

There's a dairy farm on the South Mountain Loop that sells a lot of ice cream. If asked they will fill your water bottles with water from the faucet but they do not recommend drinking it.
