Capital Crescent Trail Conditions

Did anyone ride the Capital Crescent Trail today (December 6)? I'm riding it tomorrow and want to know if the snow and ice is gone.

No 1st-hand with CCT; assuming comparable snow fall and similar conditions to what I saw on the W&OD in Sterling-Herndon-Reston: expect rutted hard snow and ice covering all/most of the trail with intermittent bare spots. Anything in the shade is going to stay frozen over. I tried it this morning (700cx35mm studded tires) - studs maintained their grip but dealing with all the ruts was not fun and I switched to side streets after about 1/2 mile. Have not decided if I'm going to try the same route going home tonight or stay on plowed/treated streets and deal with the higher traffic I avoid using the section of the trail I rode this morning.
