Granite State Quest
info on a charity ride organized by an old friend - this ride raises money for cancer research. I don't live out that way anymore, so I won't be doing it (besides it's on the same weekend as the Death Ride
)but it sounds like a small, fun organized ride.
Dear Friends
Spring is finally here! Please consider supporting the 8th annual Granite State Quest on July 10th (Sat) which helps to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and patient care at Mass General. We'd love for you to ride and there's still plenty of time to train for this year's quest to conquer cancer. GSQ riders will cycle 100 miles through eleven towns in southern New Hampshire including back-country roads in Durham, a seacoast leg through Rye and a pastoral tour through Hampton Falls. For those who want to start the party earlier, there's a 50 mile ride also available. Ask any prior rider about the excitement they felt when they each made their difference in closing the gap between the hope and reality of finding a cure for cancer. We recognize that the economic environment has impacted everyone in some way and for the first 25 NEW riders who register, Bob and I will personally donate $100 towards your fund-raising effort. For existing riders, if you recruit a friend, your friend would also be eligible for this matching donation.
Or consider being a virtual rider like me. Due to a knee injury, I will be riding virtually (raising money) and volunteering. We'd also welcome volunteers. Volunteers play an important role in supporting the riders, from coordinating food and water stops to being road warriors who provide directions and cheer on the riders. And certainly, we'd welcome any and all donations
To date, the GSQ has raised over $700,000 with 100% of monies raised funding pediatric cancer research. We hope to raise this total to $800,000 this year and we need your participation.
For more information about the Granite State Quest visit www.granitestatequest.org. You can register or donate on line or by snail mail (see below). Registering early will help us with planning, ordering and minimizing waste. And be sure to let me know via email if you're a new rider so that Bob and I can make a donation on your behalf! Thanks for your consideration!
Wishing you peace and good health
