I have this 35 mile ride I often do on the weekend starting out of Mamaroneck. Usually 2 hours and change out and back. I don't often have the time to go much further unless I plan far enough in advance.

I ride with the Westchester cycling club religiously and they're all a great bunch of people. If you're looking for people to ride with in that area, they're the guys to ride with. But most of our rides have starting points around White plains, bedford, yorktown and katonah. If you don't mind driving (or riding) to the start of the ride you should check them out. We don't restrict all our rides to club members. You can click the "see the ride schedule!" banner to see what rides we have comming up.

From what I've seen of the WCC, I agree. I've only been on 1 club ride though, but I've been in touch with some people in the club for info about the area.

The SUNY Purchase start location is pretty convenient to Mamaroneck/Larchmont. Easy to get to.

Bike Sundays on the Bronx River Parkway between Yonkers and White Plains will be restarting in September. There is also the North County Trail, which starts near the Tarrytown Resevoir. Where in lower Westchester are you riding? The Post Road, Shore Road, Weaver Street, Mamaroneck Avenue and the like are fairly congested areas. Pine Brook Boulevard and Larchmont Manor are pretty good.
