Battle Trail - Lexington and Concord MA

Just a couple of pictures from an early morning ride down the battle trail from Lexington to Concord and back. My newest and now favorite place to ride.

Although I LITERALLY had to dodge colonial musket fire this afternoon.

The most convenient place to start is just west of Rt 128/I-95. There's an end of trail parking lot, and another lot at the visitors center a little further down the road.

What I suggest, though, is going a bit further to the parking lot nearest Miriam's Corner, because if you hike east starting from that point, you can follow the path "in the footsteps" of the battle participants. The signage along the trail makes more sense if you hike east.

Is this the same as the Minuteman Trail?

No, the Minuteman Bikeway is a rail trail that runs from Cambridge through Arlington, Lexington and Bedford. This trail is the path the British took retreating from Concord while being shot at by colonials.
