Getting fit near Philadelphia?

Could folks recommend a shop in or near Philadelphia that will do a good job on fitting someone for a bike? I expect to pay for the service, since there's no guarantee I'll wind up buying my eventual bike from the place that does the fit -- there are just so many shops around here! (And isn't that a nice quandary to have!)

Yeah, we're pretty lucky here! Breakaway would my first choice- they're in CC, but if that's not convenient, try Cadence in Manayunk. I bought my bike elsewhere, but "splurged" on a fitting a couple of years later and it was definitely worth it. When I say splurged, it seemed like a lot at the time (about $200), but the difference in my performance and comfort in the year afterward made it clear to me that it was money spent wisely. BTW, you might as well get fitted for the bike you'd going to buy. Even with a full set of specs and measurements, you really need to be on the bike, and even then, you'll probably need small tweaks after settling on the new bike. No matter where you go to get a fitting, be sure they include a followup visit or two to make those tweaks for you. Good luck!

+1 Other shops include Cycles BiKyle and Wissahickon.

I got fitted at D&Q in Cherry Hill NJ. Even though I purchased the bike elsewhere and had it fitted upon purchasing I eventually went to D&Q. What a difference it made.

This thread that I started in the Road forum may be helpful. I decided to get a fitting at Cadence in Philly this week.

I'd check out Cadence then- they're on Main Street- it's a high-performance shop, but if you'd rather try another one that's less intimidating, then check out Human Zoom (also Main St. at Lock). Both are good shops and will help you very well.
