Snow covered?

To answer my own question, the path is about 95% clear, as of Tuesday morning. As soon as we get a non windy day, I'm going to give it a try.

>>>>As soon as we get a non windy day...<<<<

I used to ride this path daily into November. By that time, the wind was so brutal and cold, it was no longer fun. I've tinkered along the Jones Beach boardwalk on my folder in January and February, but I can't imagine being out there on the open path this time of year. Yer a better man than I, GRVR6. Have a great ride -- and give us a report when you get home!

Tom - to be sure, I'm not a lover of the cold and windy days. I'll only do the bike path if it's pretty nice out. I am pretty desperate to get out on the road though. I can't stand usung the indoor trainer, and if I don't do something this winter, I'll be fat as a house.

I rode the path Sunday (2/13). There were a couple of places where we walked our bikes through snow, but by now I'm sure it's all gone. Strong wind out of the south made for a slow ride down. The ride back to Merrick Rd was super fast. My max speed was 32.4.

You're making me freaking impatient about summer's arrival, GRVR6. I can feel that wind at my back on a balmy July evening right now...
