Best bike shops in NYC
Hey guys,
Looking forward to a quick trip out to NYC and back next week - from Minnesota (eek).
First time, and I'm interested in renting some bikes. Probably Electras, since the person I'm going with is terrified of all bikes in general (and I still call her my best friend) and I want to give her a good experience.
Also any suggestions for just neat bike shops to check out while I'm out there? I love to get random souvenirs from places like that.

Possibly too late, but the shops I use most are B's Bikes on Driggs in Greenpoint Brooklyn and then Rolling Orange (for my big ol' Gazelle) also here in Brooklyn. I don't know any good rental shops, but know that you can do it near most of the ferry piers throughout the east side of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

I know Bike and Roll (https://www.bikeandroll.com/) lends bicycles; I don't know whether they carry Electras, but they do stock cruisers. There also are a few places around Central Park, which you can find via flyers that people tend to hand out in the area.
