Anyone riding Tour da Bronx or Bike the River Valley (both oct 14)

Hi all, was planning on riding the tour da bronx (its free) but just got 2 free passes (from work) for biketherivervalley.com so now trying to think which one to do. Some of my co-workers are gonna ride the tour da bronx but the other one seems nice (i never rode either of them) since it comes with free trans. from manhattan (person and bike) to there and back (which makes the passes about 200.00 each).

I never did the River Valley ride before, but have done Tour de Bronx
for the last 2 years. It's a lot of fun and I'm going again this Sunday.
I'll probably volunteer again at the 40 mile registration tables. I would
do the River Valley ride especially if you got free tickets then do the
Bronx ride next year.

Keep me in mind if you're getting rid of your tickets

Well i rode the bronx ride cause i couldnt find anyone that wanted to go to that ride instead of the bronx ride. When i finally found someone that was willing to go i try to reg and online reg was close early that day. The bronx ride was nice since i knew about 15 people but i lost most of them on the ride and some fell behind and others just got lost and never found each other until the end. Speaking about the end there was no pizza left and the band was finish but the time we got near the tables but it was still nice and best part the ride was FREE.

My coworker cancelled on me last Friday, since I've done
it 2 years in a row; I decided to go on a club ride instead
to have a snack at "The Market" in Palisades, NY which I
have never been to.

Which route did you do, the 25 or 40 miles? In 2010 I was
a marshal for the 25 miler and 2011 I rode with a new rider
also on the 25 mile route. Both times I/we weren't going real
fast and must have ended somewhere in the middle of the
pack. Both times the line at the end for the pizza and T-shirt
was long but I got the goods both times. Usually there are
tables by the bathrooms at the end(Botanical Gardens)
giving away stuff, last year it was drinks and a bag. Check
out the end of my 2010 Tour de Bronx video for all the goodies
they were handing out then.

If you hung around a little longer you would have seen an abundance of pizza arrive. By that time, many people left and you can have as much pizza as you want. This was at the end, when things were wrapping up.

I did the 40 mile wish there was a 75 or 100 route. Most of the people i was with didnt want to wait so we went to a place call Ann & Tonys (i think) to eat about 12 of us.

I did the River Valley ride. The route itself was fine but the weather was so unsupportive, I only did 75 miles of it. I wish I did Tour de Bronx instead.
