I do the Ididaride every year, an ADK fundraiser from North Creek (you don't have to beg for donations, your entry fee is the only commitment), to Speculator, up to Indian Lake and back. That is August, and is a very well done event.

I also try to hit loops like Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake, Newcomb, and however I chose to get back (either a northern loop or southern).

I finished hiking the 46 4 years ago, and started cycling the year after, so I like alot of that terrain, and go back to ride.

I may do the Iditaride this year as I will miss a couple local rides I usually do. My work takes me as far east as Indian Lake so I am very familiar with the area, though I have not ridden there yet.

I've always wanted to do the Ididaride.

There is not as much climbing as it says in its literature. I think they claim 6600 ft, but it is more in the 5500 ft range. But it is a good ride, good people, and I have never had a bad time doing it. I have done it 3 years now, and this year will be the 4th.

It's going on my list for the year.

The only Black Fly event I know of is the Black Fly Affair, which is a dinner dance. And its a dinner dance that I don't go to. :D

My neighbor talked me into it. Looks like fun.

So just to throw this out there, if anyone is ever looking for a riding partner I don't mind driving an hour or two for a ride.

Are you out of Watertown, or the Adirondacks? I don't know the bounds of the hour or two drive. Ultimately, I would be more than happy to catch up with folks to ride.

I'm close to Watertown. Syracuse is 1.5 hours and Utica is about 1.
