Just a note that Frank Peckham passed away yesterday.

If you've ever mt. biked Bethpage State Park, then you might have discovered "Pecks Path", a one mile stretch of wonderful single track that Frank developed and hacked away at (with some help from his friends) in order to improve the riding experience at BP. This was just part of the trail system of many miles that Frank discovered and developed at BP.

As well, he was active on the road scene and many a roadie (myself included) can testify to how strong and friggin fast he was, even in his later years. I can never remember dropping Frank, mt. or road and being 30 years younger, mostly spent a lot of rides just hanging on his wheel.

An amazing rider, a true gentleman and where ever you are Frank, I hope it's all sweet single track.

EDIT: And he built some very nice lugged steel frames.

RIP.

Don't think I ever met him, but it's always sad to lose one of our own.
