Best bike mechanic in Philly?

Looking to establish a relationship with a bike mechanic in Philly. This is going to be my new hobby, and I plan to own multiple bikes (road, cyclocross, triathlon, possibly mountain). I'll be constantly tinkering with stuff, new wheels, derailleurs, etc. would like to find a good mechanic who I can go to for all my needs.

There are many shops with great mechanics in Philly. To narrow things down I would start with first checking what shops are near you. There are also adult bike repair classes that can be helpful if you are something of a do-it-yourselfer and are starting with minimal skills/knowledge.

I stopped by trophies today. They seemed pretty friendly and knowledgeable. Taking some bike repair classes is something I'll definitely do. I'll leave building bikes to the professionals, but as of now I don't know how to fix a flat...

Trophy Bikes is a good shop. The owner is extremely knowledgeable (and opinionated, but in a good way). Bike Church is also nice. For a small donation (it is a non-profit benefiting youth thru cycling) you get to use the facilities and tool. There are volunteers who can help you a bit, but the premise is that you are working on your own bike (self-reliance). Neighborhood Bike Works also has an adult bike class where you can learn the fundamentals of bike maintenance. It would be a good intro before attending bike church. And various shops periodically have classes in things like how to change a flat. Lastly, look into The Bicycle Club of Philadelphia -Home and its ride calendar if you are interested in joining others for rides. A great way not just to meet people, but to also find what roads to ride on. Start with a simple slow ride and work your way up to longer, faster rides if interested. Enjoy the sport.
