...and they're all looking kind of sluggish!
This winter really beat the heck out of us Northeasterners. Just about every cyclist I saw on the road today looked like he/she was really working hard, having not ridden much more than the refrigerator door all winter. The scariest part was that so many seemed to have lost their balance over the winter and were swerving erratically all over the road.
I took my bike up from the basement today and hope to resume my commute to work sometime this week. I suppose I will be just as much of a "sight" as all these people when I do!

Around here, last Thursday was apparently the day to ride. I passed 6 bicyclists coming back from Albany. Only one seemed "out of shape". I was surprised to see that many riding on a weekday. I was out on my bike all day Saturday and didn't see a single rider. I rode to my LBS and overheard the staff talking about their first group ride of the season, which was Tuesday. Apparently only 5 riders showed up for the novice ride, yet the following day they had 15 out of 30-some show up for the intermediate (faster) ride.
It's usually uncommon around here to see "full kit" road riders out until late May, only the casual/occasional commuters (myself included) ride earlier than that. The temperatures are supposed to drop to below 50 this week so I bet I won't see anyone riding this weekend.
