New England preferred Rim Depth

Hi guys, you all know our lovely New England / Metropolitan Boston area so I chose to ask this here instead of in the road biking section.

I'm going to drop a pretty penny and invest in some wheels I've been lusting over. Carbon tubular Enve rims. I'm trying to decide on which is more suited for me. The Enve SES 3.4 (35-45mm) rims or the Enve SES 6.7 (60-70mm) tubular wheelset.

I enjoy road racing and triathlon during the active seasons. We're famous for steep hills and less than perfect road conditions though... I've heard that many people prefer the deep rims even for hills and that the benefits offset the downsides, but I figure our own natives would know the area and wind conditions best. Your two cents, anyone? I'm especially interested if you have wheels in either of these depth ranges.

Old School: keep your race wheels for Race Day, and have a pair of rugged wheels for the rest of the time.
