Northampton-Amherst rail trail: is it cleared in winter for commuting?

Does anyone know whether the part of the Norwottuck trail between Northampton and Amherst in MA is cleared for commuting in the winter? If not, how long would it not be usable? (I live in Quebec and don't mind the cold but there are a few months each year where snow would prevent commuting on an uncleared trail)
