Commuter bike me vs truck

On Thursday during my bike commute I was hit by a truck. Miraculously, I am only badly bruised, though my bike is totaled. The driver left the scene before the police and ambulance arrived. But I have a video camera on my bike. Please look at my YouTube piece and see if you can help ID the driver. Plus, I worked hard on it, so check it out anyway. Consider sharing if you are local.

https://ZZZZZZZZZZZ

I was getting too many weird comments so I deleted the video. Sorry.

Ouch! I am sorry about this. You were crossing on the wrong side of the road in the dark, short of the crosswalk.
Still, law requires parties involve to stay for accident report. Hope all is ok with you.

I'm on a bike trail, crossing at the trail to the trail. There's a curb cut on both sides where I'm riding. It is dark, but I have a very bright headlight, two tail lights and a bright yellow jacket with reflective material.

There is no "other side" if I'm on the bike path here.

Very glad you made it out relatively OK... I hope they find the guy. I'm in the east bay and I shared link to the video on my FB [with no details in case you decide to remove the video later]. Hope you recover soon and well. Don't neglect the shoulder. It can take several months for the full extent of joint damage to become unbearably obvious.

That looks very much like a work truck (like F-350/F-450, definitely a Ford), note the yellow lights above the cab, potentially even flat bed or dump truck. I'd bet if you hung out near the intersection for an hour a couple of days, you'll see it go past.

Wow Curtis, sorry to read about this. Quite a year you're having. Glad you're pretty much OK physically. I hope you can find the driver.

Very glad to hear you're mostly okay. Looking at the spot on Google streetview, it looks like unsafe street design (having the trail cross the street slightly before the crosswalk) is part of the problem. Not that that in any way justifies or mitigates the guilt of the scumbag driver who left the scene, but Antioch needs to address this if they care about safety.

So sorry to read this. You've had your fair share of too many incidents this year. Here's hoping for a safe and successful new year. I hope you can find the perp on this.

Jeez, dude! You've had a too much action this year. Perhaps you need mix things up, get a Prius for those early mornings, a Boosted Dual for a little afternoon post-class fun. Otherwise, allow us to pool a little money and take out a term insurance policy on you while we have the chance. Dead peasant insurance,... windfall baby!

This looks like a good candidate for a replacement commuter bike.
Fully fendered.
Plenty of storage.

Looks good. Though a bit weighty. I think I'm going off the deep end and getting something well beyond sane. To be revealed later.

It is a shame this one has sold out.
'Twas a great deal, came with lights, fenders, and a rear rack.
I would convert it to drop bars, that would look pretty cool.

Or... there is this is from Craigslist France:

You know you can just disable commenting on a video, right? Did you at least share it with the police? Hit-and-run is serious business. I hope you're doing all right since then, in any case.
