Sacramento area - intro to cyclocross?

Cross-posted in Cyclocross racing forum.

Want to race in the sac area cyclocross series this fall, but have never done such a thing. Do any of the Sac area bike shops (or other groups) offer "beginner" classes for CX techniques, tips, etc?

Thanks!

Sacramento Cyclocross 2015 is the local series

Make sure to follow @ghetocx on twitter and FB. They'll post some pickup races over the summer. Great atmosphere, super fun times.

Thanks. I know about the bounty of you tube videos. Was just hoping for some in person guidance.

There's some fantastic CX racing in Sacto. Couple of shops heve pre season clinics around August and there's the GHETTO crew with informal races midweek and then RodeoCross in Folsom early in the season. Plenty of opportunity to hone those rusty or new skills. PM me if you want details.

A skill you must have in Sacramento. Video from our race on a drag strip at night. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejzqy_vQqbE

I know someone is doing it, because I saw a race going on a few months back at that megachurch over by the college in Folsom.

Yep. Pretty sure that was part of the annual Sac CX series that caloso linked. That's what I want to train for (with 0 prior CX experience).

You might try contacting The Bicycle Business on Freeport in Sacramento. I know several of the employees there participate in cyclocross and they may have some resources for training rides.
