Dangerous RR Crossing on West Cutting in RIchmond

For what may be the fourth time in as many weeks, I had to stop and ask someone if they were ok after they hit the ground where the tracks cross Cutting Blvd between Canal and Garrard.

PLEASE everyone, slow down, check your six and then take the whole right lane to cross these tracks. If you try to stay in the bike lane while crossing, you stand a great chance of getting the bars yanked out of your hands as your front wheel falls in and follows the tracks.

This is a notoriously nasty set of tracks that cross at an angle that is like a Venus Fly Trap. It's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured. Be careful.

Have you reported the problem to either the Richmond traffic department or on Bike East Bay's Hazard Report site:
https://bikeeastbay.org/hazards_map

Ian McDonald records all the reports sent to the above site and follows up with the proper engineering or maintenance department until it's resolved.

Yep, any track transition that you can't hit perpendicular will be a problem. Being close to the Homefront/Rosie site lures new riders through there all the time.
