Biking Lodi's Wineries
Looks like the Chron posted a route map and tips.

Nice. Don't forget, The Giro d' Vino ride in November is a great way to ride bike through Lodi's wineries.

We did it a year ago as an all day family ride. Klinker Brick was our home base, probably hit 5 or 6 stops before we were somewhat comfortably wasted. I suggest passing on Michael David by the freeway, tourist trap.

I can't say enough good things about the Giro d' Vino. It might be a bike ride, but we treat it as a wine tasting by bike.
Kudos to Lodi for trying to make their city bike friendly and a bike destination. We went there last year to hear The Path Less Pedaled folks. Read about that here: Curtis Corlew in Bicycle Land: Lodi Bicycle Summit, Building Bicycle Tourism and the Path Less Pedaled

Our bike club used to have some local vineyard-vineyard rides a number of years ago and we'd have at least one bike with a trailer so purchases could be carried back. But now they all charge tasting fees which makes it less feasible. The fee is fine if you're spending significant time at a particular vineyard but on our rides the idea was to only spend a few minutes and maybe a single sip at each location.

This is exactly why the Giro d' Vino is so great, the organizers shuttle all wine purchases back to the start/finish, plus there are no tasting fees. More perks include post ride meals, w/ wine at the end.
