Sacramento "vintage ride" on Friday March 15? (NAHBS)

"North American Handmade Bicycle Show" will be in Sacramento March 15-17. How about a "vintage" bike ride up and down the beautiful American River Parkway? Starting and ending at the NAHBS.

There also is a "Sacramento Bike Kitchen" swap meet on Saturday the 16th.

March 15th is best for me because of Bike races at Granite Bay on 16 and 17, also Friday is the best day to visit NAHBS.

Is anyone interested?

Hello
I live near Seattle and am planning on flying to Sacramento with my bike for the NAHBS show and then riding down to the Eroica in Cambria in April.
Can anyone give me pointers on route finding to do this? I would be credit card touring and prefer more scenic less travelled routes even if they more miles.
Thanks
David Miller

Definitely interested, but probably can't make it. If I can make it to NAHBS on Friday, it would be in a suit and sans bike. I hope others can join you, and I'll holler in the unlikely chance I can get there earlier with and with a bike.

R531, I like your ideas. I'm certain that a group of us Davis Bike Club members will attend the show and possibly ride up to the Convention Center from Davis on one of those days, maybe Friday. Of course, we would be riding our vintage or custom-made bikes to the show if we can find a secure place to park the bikes. If we can put more meat on a group ride plan to mesh with what you suggest, it would be easy to post an event on the clubsite ride calendar so that the entire club was aware of it.
What do you think?

Dave,
One idea would be to ride from San Francisco to Cambria and you could use the route that the annual AIDS LifeCycle group uses. I'm certain that there are plenty of GPS routes to get from SF to that area. My wife has ridden it 5 times and can provide more info if you want. Getting from Sac to SF is easy if you don't mind using the Capital Corridor Amtrak and BART. Of course, you could ride it too.
Sounds like April will be a great month for riding!

There is valet indoor secured bike parking at the venue (courtesy of xxxxxxxx). It is free, but they have a tip jar. the bikes are in a secure room with attendants. I felt good about it.
