Road biking near Felton/Mount Herman Area?

I'm going to be mostly MTB'ing the area in Sept but how is road riding near there? Any roads or routes you recommend (or that I should avoid)? Are there bike lanes on busier roads? How's traffic on smaller roads? Driver attitudes? Thanks.

The roads around there are my favorite roads to bike out of anywhere I've ever ridden. It's really spectaculaar, as long as you're ready to climb. You can head up Zayante Road (small road, virtually 0 traffic), Bean Creek to Mountain Charlie Rd, or take Empire Grade up to Big Basin. To connect things, Highway 9 North of Felton isn't too bad to ride on. Mt Hermon Rd has a lot of traffic but a decently wide shoulder.

If you have an idea of how far you want to ride, I can be more specific with certain loops.
