On the CCC Canal trail
Just now I was heading west at about Cherry Lane when an electric motorcycle crossed going the other way at a pretty fast speed. I had seen a small white pickup parked at the intersection earlier in my ride labelled “Canal Patrol”. I thought this is perfect so I pulled off the trail up to the drivers window. I asked if he had seen the speeding electric that had just passed by? He said “Yes” but indicated he wasn’t going to do anything about it. He said that if he called out to the violator but he didn’t stop then there was nothing he could do.
So I mentioned to him the pool in the canal a little ways to the west that was full of dead goldfish. And he wasn’t interested in that either.
Should I feel safer because my canal is “patrolled”?

I did at least see the canal patrol (maybe it was EBRP patrol) pull over a quad atv on that had been riding on the trail in Antioch. It was great. He passed me and then, lie magic, 3/4 of a mile down the trail BUSTED. So SOMETIMES is happens.
