Cycling Fatality on Mines Road
This past Sunday, the local cycling community is in mourning, as one of our beloved cyclists, Ellen, was struck in a head on collision. This was on our ACTC ride, from Livermore to Del Puerto Canyon. I ride with Ellen regularly, and was my road trip buddy on many previous organized rides (we were even on the same Bike MS team). The media has some coverage on it, https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/20...-valley-roads/, although we dispute the fact that she crossed the yellow line, but since we weren't there, we could not confirm that.
We are having a memorial ride Sunday, in her memory. If you are in the area, feel free to join us.

there never are, and just based on the report, they've already concluded at best it was mutual fault, though I really doubt it. Unless she started to lose control, or overcooked a corner, who rides over the centerline in a blind curve? Sadly this will likely be another pointless cycling death with zero repercussions for the driver. I don't even think the person who ran over that football coach in Danville was charged, and that was due to speeding.
