My first solo 50 miler in a while. I wore my Triple Crown Gold Medal Jersey for inspiration. One can't disgrace The Jersey.
Up and over Morgan Territory, down The Plunge and then... just turned around at the Alameda County line sign and went back up The Plunge.
A nice mash up of the DMD course and the TOC course. Nice yes and hard, so nice and hard.

Rode up to watch TOC on Mt. Diablo on Saturday from Berkeley, then rode back. Hooked up with a big group riding from Oakland BART as I was climbing up Tunnel. Great day.

Today, Sunday, did a nice three hour ride with a friend. On the way back ran in to Mr. Crazy. After I split off from my friend was chugging along in zone 1 spacing out. This dude passed me. I kept chugging along. At red light he slowed down waaay before the light. So I passed him. When light turns green I take of at leasury pace. He passes me half a minute or so after and says something. I was listening to music so didn't hear him.

I take headphones out and catch up to him to ask whats up. He just loses. Starts being very belligerent saying why I passed him again, forcing him to pass me. Start calling me an *******, etc. Telling me I can't ride my bike. I think some people I race with would disagree with him on that point. lol. I had enough of that silliness picked up the pace and left him behind. Just didn't want to deal with Mr. High Ego. Stopped at red light, and he blew past me at full speed and ran the red light. Caught up to him and told him and I quote: "Nice for blowing a red light doughbag." Which got me more crap from him. Left him behind. On bright node I discovered I can maintain 300W average for 10+ minutes when I am annoyed.

Mt. Tam ride Saturday - what a great day to be out on a bike. Clear, not many cars on the road, good times.

Didn't ride at all - drove up Old La Honda with the family (taking the three year old to Santa Cruz). Here just to rant a bit - of all the cyclists I saw yesterday (and I saw many!) - only one had lights. That road goes in and out of the shadows quite a bit - I struggled to see cyclists hidden in the shadows (and I was looking out for them). Unless you ride in sunny places on flat terrain with no tree cover, please ride with lights!

Took my old Dahon down from Sebastopol (and later, back) to the finish of the Tour of California. Met Levi. Got a primo spot by the finsh line when the ladies who had been camping there spontaneously left just before the peloton appeared
