Nice 50miler with brentley and Robocheme. Pinehurst to Redwood Rd - beautiful today - shafts of sun streaming through the trees, and the descent to the Golf course was a "glad to be alive today" experience. Then went through CV to Crow Canyon, and decided to head up Norris Canyon to avoid the traffic. Robocheme claimed several KOM's on this stretch. I was not convinced. Another banzai descent down Norris and some good spinning/pedaling circles practice from San Ramon back to Lafayette and then home.

Did a double century trainer ride, but decided at the last minute to shorten it up a little bit. Still got 84 miles, 6400+ ft climbing. Rode out to Woodside, did OLH, then out to the coast, climbed 2 of the 3 sisters on Stage Road. Went back on Pescadero Creek Rd, up Haskins Hill, with headwinds!!! Wasn't expecting that! Finally, climbed West Alpine ... that kicked my butt, but I think fatigue set in ... I started W. Alpine at mile 60 of my ride.

Early Bird Crit #3.

Raced with the juniors this time and finished in the top 10-ish I think.

With Midland ... A moderately long, moderately hilly loop: 58 miles / 4550 feet of climbing.

DVC -> Over Benicia Bridge -> Lake Herman Road -> Columbus Parkway -> Crockett Bridge -> McKewan Rd -> Frankling Canyon -> Pig Farm -> 2/3's of 3 Bears -> Happy Valley Rd -> Deer Hill Rd -> Reliez Valley Rd -> DVC

Lots of climbs with interesting transition roads between climbs. Had to hurry the pace and keep it moving to get it in during daylight. Was not able to get rolling until about 12:30

Saturday headed over to Marin to ride the railroad grade to the top of Mt. Tam. Absolutely beautiful day. This is a great trail, nice steady climb all the way to the top, with plenty of amazing views. Lots of people out but it wasn't too bad, never affected my ride. I had been dying to try out my latest build, the Bernie Mikkelsen frame with eBay special rigid fork. Sadly these forks flex a bit when brakes are applied, somewhat unnerving on very steep hills. I may visit the man himself to fabricate something. After the climb comes the descent, and it was a fun ride back down to the car. Next time have to start lower.

42 flattish, lazy-ish miles with bigbossman and MarkoPolo. We started from Casa BBM in San Ramon, thence up the Iron Horse to Danville and the Boulevard to Walnut Creek. From there, out Olympic and up the Moraga-Lafayette MUP to Moraga and lunch. After a leisurely repast, over Moraga Way to Glorietta, back to Lafayette, and retracing our steps back to San Ramon, with a not-in-the-slightest-bit-quick pick-me-up at Peet's in Danville. Our pace and the number and duration of the stops would have driven some of you nuts, but hey, it's how we roll.

Looks like your nocturnal e-missions are becoming more frequent. Might want to see a doctor about that.

Sorry about that. No. I'm the pasty kid in the red and black SRV kit.

The Fremont kid was probably five or six riders back by the time we finished. I was proud to be around the top ten, even if it was just a training race. lol.

I do think I saw your son there. HTC jersey?

Up and over montebello -- dirt to page mill and back down moody - foothill - home. Good company (me on right, my brother in the middle, and mad Tri hombre Glenn on the left), gorgeous weather, and one of my favorite rides around.

Geez been so long since I posted here I can't make a clickable image that links to flickr.

Umm no, the Team Fremont rider in question in Noah. He won the race with really clean wheels. He dropped the field on the sprint.

Mike, there really wasn't a sprint in our race. The first person to cross the finish was quickly followed by another and another. Nobody was dropped. Maybe he did win, and maybe it's his bud that I'm thinking of. Either way, it was fun and I had a good time.

No worries. Noah jumped hard out of 4 and rode away. Your probably thinking of his teamate Alec. He patrolled the front the whole race and drifted back at the finish. Glad your having fun, that's the whole point of it. If I see you next week I'll say hello.

Did some laps on Canada. Mostly to get some much needed sun on my pale arms and legs. Need to redefine those tan lines.

And I rode around in circles.

102 miles and 6500 feet of climbing out Livermore way. Parked at Dickey's BBQ and did an Altamont/Midway and Patterson Pass loop then down to Cross Road and over to Mines Rd. Went out Mines Rd to a few miles past the Junction Cafe. Turned around and back to Dickey's for dinner. With Ccorlew and Midland.

They got 88 mi each, they had a nice lunch at the Junction cafe while I bombed out a few extra miles, then I returned to the cafe. I got back there just as they finished lunch and then we all rode back to town for dinner.

My son was riding around on a 20" Specialized HotRock. He's 5.5 yrs old... too young to race even in the juniors.

Should have stayed in bed today, instead of doing two hour ride. Beeing sick on and off for the last three weeks. Feeling fine for few days then barely functioning the next.

With this awesome weather and the trails dry I hit Shell ridge/Diablo Foothills everyday after work, even some night riding. So with Sunday looking bleak-I knew Saturday was my last chance to ride the mountain bike. So I made it an epic of sorts, did 20 miles at Pleasanton Ridge. I am thinking of converting my Mikkelsen to a 1X9 so I only rode middle ring, only had to walk a few times. Pleasanton Ridge is nice because you loose the walkers pretty quick and you are basically alone for the rest of the day. I rode the big hill, to Olive Tree, Thermalito, Bay Leaf, Sinbad Creek, Cowing, Ridge. Midway the fog rolled back in and it was a little misty, but a great workout and a great ride.

Saturday: 2.5 hours in the rain. Berkeley->Lafayette-> Berkeley via Papa Bear and Happy Valley.
Sunday: Early Bird clinic and crit (C5 30+). Roads were damp but the weather was nice. Safe race, no crashes.
