I saw that reflection on the fork and thought it was an eylet also.

Not a bad looking ride - if you like that worn-out, 30 year old steel sort of thing...

Now if it were only about 5 or 6 centimeters smaller a regular sized person could ride it!

Seriously, i've seen the frame before the build and it is absolutely gorgeous. Great looking all built up too. Is it quieter than the Cooper?!

I'd give a snippy response, but I'll leave it to bigbossman to insert the "sounds like German armor" variation of his choice.

Real answer? Yes.

It almost has to be - WWII German armor is quieter than that Cooper.

Not sure what you are referring to as far as noise from a Cooper!

I love riding mine because it is so stable and comfortable and . . . classique

It's not about noise from Ron Coopers in general, it's bigbossman forever giving me rations of, um, fertilzer for a noise eminating from the bottom bracket of my Ron Cooper in particular, a noise I have yet to ID and rectify, much to his amusement. Between that, his carping about my bar-wrap jobs and saying that some people shoouldn't be allowed to have nice things whilst rolling his eyes in my general direction, I have a moving soundtrack every time we ride together.

But I make it up to him whenever he rides on my wheel, if you catch my, er, drift . . . .

Took a 1/2 day vacation yesterday. Top of Diablo and back home for 42 miles.
4th best time ever up Diablo. Best ever time from the Junction to the Summit.
Never expected to have such a good ride since I am riding so much less now due to darkness.
Must be the rest?

My awesome missus and I rode from South City to Santa Cruz today. Not trying to go fast since I didn't ride for a week and am still a relatively weak climber. Nice ride after the weather improved! 70 miles, over 4K feet climbing.

Pictures. It was damp to start, so I left my new carbon bike at home and took the trusty Fuji.

Devil's slide was dicey.

Rest stop.

The sun did finally come out, more than halfway through.

A pretty stop along the way.

Whale City Bakery -- is that in Davenport? If so, we ate breakfast there on day 2 of our tandem ride from SF-->SB 10/09. Great food there, beautiful view, too.

Either way, good pics.

And that's a serious helmet, btw.

Did 60 miles from the Presidio in San Francisco out to Nicasio Valley. The sun never came out and I was cold the whole ride. Maybe I need a thermal jersey b/c a normal jersey, arm warmers, and a wind breaker was not cutting it.

That's the one! After the cold wind and rain, it was a great place for a coffee.

I took a recovery ride on the swank bike up San Bruno Mountain this morning - now at work, and the weekend is officially over.

MarkoPolo and I both did the Thanksgiving Day "thing" with our repsective families in the Monterey/Carmel area, so we met up the day after for an unbelieveably wonderful ride. We met up in front of my hotel and headed out along the waterfront around Pacific Grove and onto the 17 Mile Drive to Pebble Beach. Then up to the Hwy 1 gate and down Aguajito (with a short detour near the bottom).

After rain and such on Turkey Day itself, Friday had crystal clear blue skies with nary a cloud. The temperature was a tad nippy, but nothing that an extra layer or two couldn't handle, and it only made the coffee and pastries afterwards all the more enjoyable. Simply a specatcular day. No photos because (1) you people don't deserve them anyway and (2) I didn't think to bring a camera along.

Wed - First outing on my Niner EMD9 doing the Shell Ridge loop and then out to Macedo Ranch and home on the roads. The 29er pretty much rocked.
Thurs - Up at 6 to bake and prep, then a sweet little 30 miler with a two other Valley Spokesmen out Reliez, into Martinez, Clyde and home. Was wet and traffic was very light.
Fri - 56 miles with the Valley Spokesmen from Central Park in San Ramon out to "the Flynns" and into the wine region - fall colors were pretty nice.

bikingshearer AND his new Eisentraut - "Gleaming in the sun..."

It really was a great day to be alive and riding on the Monterey Peninsula.

To the top of Diablo up North Gate Road.
The good news: Set Personal Record at 1:27 (Slow old farts of the world take notice!)
The bad news: I got absolutely shut down, dropped and left for dead by this guy.
He was on a 45 pound, single speed, Schwinn cruiser.
It was complete with balloon tires, fenders and tractor seat.
He mashed and mashed, up out of the saddle the whole time.
I was powerless to close the ever widening gap.
Humbling.

Wait till you meet the old lizard-skinned guy in gym shorts and flip-flops, riding up on his cruiser. Even had a cigarette dangling nonchalantly from his lips. He'll give you a run for your money, too.
