92 to Los Altos Hill Saturday Ride

My wife and I are riding on December 23 starting at 10 AM at Canăda and 92. Look for a white Subaru Forrester and a silver Santana tandem. We will NOT ride if it is raining. We are riding our tandem and invite other tandem teams as well as road bikes to join us. The ride will be 40 miles with 3200 feet of elevation gained. We typically ride this route at approximately 17 mph average speed. We will ride to Los Altos Hills and stop at Starbucks and return. We plan 3 stops: Woodside Market on the way out, Los Altos Starbucks and Woodside Market on the way back. The route is Canăda to Woodside Road with a stop at the market to regroup. We turn left at Woodside and right onto Whiskey Hill Road and left on Sand Hill Road. We take Sand Hill Road and cross over 280 and continue down the hill until we reach Junipero Serra Blvd. Turn right Junipero Serra and prepare for an immediate left. If you go straight, you go up Alpine Hill. Junipero Serra Blvd turns in to Foothill Expressway. We stay on Foothill Expressway until we come to Main Street in Los Altos Hills. Turn left on Main and Starbucks is on the left at the second intersection.

The return goes back Foothill Expressway which turns into Junipero Serra Blvd. Instead of going back Sand Hill, we will turn left on Alpine and climb Alpine until we reach the stop sign at Portola. Turn right on Portola and continue on Portola until you come to Mountain Home. Turn left at Mountain Home and bear right to stay on Mountain Home which will take you back to the Market at Woodside Road. Stop and regroup at the Market. We take Canăda back to 92.
