What's the deal with the ARBT?
Seems as if the UP train trestle over the American River Bike Trail burned down when I was out of town for the week. I saw the article in the Bee about a super long and fairly scary detour on to Exposition and back around REI.
Any update on the ARBT?

my wife and I were there on Saturday...and we couldn't quite figure the detour...so we stopped at the entrance to the RV park on Ethan Way and turned around and rode back to Folsom. We really hadn't intended on going all the way to Discovery Park.

I am going, with a group from Reno, to ride the ARBP on the Saturday before Easter. I called Sacramento Parks And Rec and they assured me that the detour was well marked and safe. This is a tradition for us on Easter Saturday and we have been stopped by flooding before but not the by guy, a few years ago, who was shooting people on the Bike Path. A little Detour will not stop us, we are tired of riding in the snow in Reno.
