Completely OT...I'm going to be a daddy again!
So my wife and I have been trying for the last 11 years to have another child. We wanted to do it the natural way, meaning no drugs, etc. We did try fertility treatments way back but they never took so we figured if and when it happens, it'll be because it was meant to be. Anyway, the EPT strip says we are pregnant!
Our son, who we've always said was an only child will be 17 y/o this year. Yup, we are starting over and looking forward to it. We had planned to retire while in our mid-fifties but that has been on hold obviously. I am 43 now and my wife is 41. Looks like retirement won't come until age 65 after all.
You know John Lennon was right when he said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Congrats! My wife and I didn't marry and have kids until later. We're running after toddlers and struggling through potty training while our friends have teenagers.
But looks like you'll have the best of both worlds, at the same time. Congratulations again!

Congratulations! You're going to be have a unique experience of being a father in two very different decades of your life. I'm sure it'll be interesting to compare the two.
My only son was born when I was 48. It's a great feeling!

Congratulations!
+1 on the built-in 17yo babysitter although he may be off to college by the time you really need his help. I guess I'm status quo having had my first daughter at 28 but not so status quo with 4 kids now.
