Show Us Your Ride

Post a picture of your bike. I'm curious to see what everyone has. I'll start:

Here's a link in case the pic upload does not work. I want to work on this bike by adding clipless pedals and all that lovely stuff. I'm a newbie, if you have not been able to tell by now.

What a coincidence! Here's mine when I first got it. Since then I've "flipped it", changed saddles, lost some stickers, and added some scratches from the first couple weeks of learning clipless pedals. Oh, and I'm a Cal alum too! But, if I were to follow your naming convention, it would be CalBears93 which shows my age!

This is what I used my stock options for. I was fortunate to be in one of those successful startups ...

Nope not me. I grew up and currently live in the east bay (san ramon/danville). Just curious, did your "Alain" grow up in Union City? I only knew of one guy back in elementary school who shared the same name as me.

If only that were true when I was growing up. It was a pain having to explain to everyone new I met that it wasn't pronounced "elaine".

Go Bears! Nice bike. What kind of rims/tires do you have on your bike? It looks pretty cool.

The rims and tires in the photo are stock (Bontrager Race Lite Rims/Bontrager Race X Lite Tires). Currently, I'm riding on Michelin Krylion Carbon Tires.

Hmmmm, my stock rims feel cheap and I think I need to replace them ASAP. I don't want them to break on me. Anyone have any suggestions for a newbie for some good, but inexpensive rims?

By the way, alainp. I went to a high school named after some guy whose first name was Alain, so I am familiar with that name.

well, what's inexpensive? Can't really go wrong with Mavic Ksyriums, but you're looking at at least a few hundred. Or you can pick up a pair of Open pros with Ultegra hubs for under $200 sometimes when Performance has them on sale.

now the real question is, when are we having a big ass NorCal group ride?

BigSean, nice pics. What's holding up the Trek in the final shot? Did you photoshop it out?

Gee3 07-12-07 10:58 AM

Man... I feel like I got a dime store bike compared to you guys...

I just have a Specialized Allez Elite... sans the Carbonello stickers... (and I can't even take "the picture in front of the garage" correctly!)

I'm about to take delivery of a trek 5.2 in team disco colors, so there'll be at least three discovery bikes when we do the big cali ride :) I think I'm going to tape over the discovery logo though, I like the black and blue color scheme much better than the red, but not a fan of the logo since I'm really not trying to pretend I'm lance... pics to follow in a coupla days - can't wait!
