Morgan Hill Coyote Creek Trail
I would like to know more about this ride. Anybody do this one? Also are there any climbs in M.H. area?

This trail is a classic, paved, two-way trail connecting San Jose (Hellyer Park, with its velodrome) to Morgan Hill. It's flat as a pancake and frequented by runners, walkers, etc. I think it's about 17 miles in length.
Near Morgan Hill itself are a few climbs. Santa Teresa Blvd to Willow Springs is pretty good. I'm sure there are others west of Morgan Hill. A little further north and west you'll find some awesome climbs in the Santa Cruz mountains. A little further north is Metcalf and a few others.

One thing to watch for on the trail: the wind! Depending on the time of year and the time of day, you can get really nasty headwinds (or really awesome tailwinds) along the trail as the air funnels through the Coyote Valley.
Prevailing winds are usually out of the northwest, offering a tailwind on the ride from San Jose to Morgan Hill, and increasing in intensity as the day progresses.

Another note to this little path.
There is a R/C airplane airport off this trail. Its a nice place to take a break and check out some really cool RC planes(if you're into things like that). I generally don't have an interest in such things but there was some really really cool stuff there. Weekends its like a small airshow, complete with crashes, except nobody dies in the crashes.. just egos' so it okay.
The trail is mostly flat, but it still a nice place to just go ride if you are in the mood for road, but aren't in the mood for cars.

There are a few great hills in MH. Head up East Dunne and go to Henry Coe. It's 11 miles of climbing with an average grade of ~9%. It has some extended sections of 10-12% and a wall of 22% near the top. Great climbing with little traffic. I will be up there tomorrow...

one of the good climbs in the area is Hicks Rd. One side (closest to Los Gatos) is worse than another. I don't recall the grades, though.
