Ahhh, bitter and sweet

Well I finally recieved one of my new bikes, only Im sick with a bad chest cold so all I can do is stare at it. Here are a few pics. I was never much for white bar tape, but I do like it.

and a closer look at the new Ultegra SL

As pictured and bone stock the weight is 17.3 If I put on my lighter wheels and lighter tires it'll drop a good half lb.

I dig the colors of your bike. The blue is incredible. I bet it will look great under the sun.

I dig the black gruppo. I wonder if Dura Ace will come out in black soon. Carbon DA crankset is already out I think.

Well yes, actually it is. I use those words lightly as I dont beat on my bikes at all. But if Im doing a rain ride, or something like that this is the bike. The other one wont be here until febuary or march, although I still have the other 2 bikes. Time to put the madone up for sale, and dis assemble the Look.

Superb looking bike. The dark grey of the Ultegra SL looks great up close. I have thought about picking up the thinner Specialized saddle, you'll have to give some feedback on how comfortable it is.

I leave the beating of my beater bikes to my kids. Just yesterday one of my daughters accidentally nudge the bike from where its leaning and now the saddle has a 1 cm cut on it. For 24 years that saddle was pristine until last night. <sigh>
