I'm debating on whether or not I'm taking Caltrain, or just drive up to Millbrae and take Bart over. Last time, I didn't have change, and just bought $20 fare on my Bart ticket. Gotta use it somehow.

Just a thought about options for Sat. Ride:
1. (My suggestion) Sausalito, to Fairfax, Sir Francis Drake, Nicasio Valley rd to Pt. Reyes Station downtown, Hwy 1 south to Bolinas, Fairfax Bolinas rd up to Tam, back down to Mill Valley.
2. Sausalito to Point Reyes Light house out and back.
3. Just Mt tam via back from Fairfax
4. Sausalito, same as #1 but petaluma cheese factory and Marshall wall without TAM.
???? Votes?

#1: I've done this ride w/ the Cheese Factory and Tam thrown in. It's a great ride. I'd love to join you but unfortunately I think I might have to play "Shuttle" for the kids sporting event again this weekend. If things change, I'll let you know.

I was thinking we would start in Fairfax. I hate that section between Mill Valley and Fairfax with all the stops.

It's about 60 miles, I think, to start in Fairfax, go out to Nicasio, Point Reyes Station, down Rte 1 to Fairfax-Bolinas, up to the summit of Tam, back down Fairfax-Bolinas to Fairfax.

We're planning on being there.

The only problem with that is people comming up from the south bay or east bay on bart. The way to solve it would be a 9:30 start in Sausalito meet you at 10/10:15 in Fairfax...when we get to the top of Tam we'll have the option of going back to mill valley or Fairfax with you. How's that?

That sounds good. We could push the meeting in Fairfax back to 10:45, since the initial plan was for a 10 AM start. Either time is fine with us.

So are we going for the 9:30 am start in Sausalito? Scheduling is more flexible with Bart, so we could work around that. Besides, I need to use my Bart ticket.

Did you not read the thing about my handle? The Zippy part is for descents. I'm tenacious on climbs, that's all.

This sounds like fun, and I wanta go. But I'm building up my new frame on Friday night, and somehow taking an untried, un-fine-tuned bike far from home on a long ride seems like a bad idea.
Here's Tricia with the new Kestrel. I can hardly wait to be rolling...

Oh, it'll be built up on Friday. But it takes a bit to dial in shifting and seat position. Do I really want to do that on longer ride?

That frame is either going to make me ride like I'm 10 years younger, or someone will beat me up for having a bike I don't "deserve."

I'm up for a 9:30 meetup in Sausalito. Will be riding from Embarcadero BART station (coming from east bay). Anyone else riding from BART let's co-ordinate for the ride to Sausalito.

I suggest leaving Embarcadero BART at 8:30 to have plenty of time to meet, grab a cup, pee, etc. The ride to Sausalito is about 45 min.- 1 hour. Watch for cops in Sausalito they like to nab cyclists.

What kind of pace are you planning?
