World's Largest Bicycle Parade Attempt, 3/1

I got an email from another member of my club, and I thought I would pass it on. Sounds like fun. Anyone else in?

Just discussed it with the other half and I think we're in! Sounds like a crazy fun time. Since it's on Sat. it won't mess up the Sunday ride.
Anyone else.

Why does an organized ride like New York's 5-Boro Bicycle Tour not qualify for this record? They get 30,000 cyclists every year. They ride in one huge pack, spreading all the way across 6-lane roads and miles long.

It has to be single file. There are all kinds of other requirements too, including video taping every participant. Each person also has to have a number. I participated last year. We broke the record with 900+ riders but I guess someone else took the crown from us.

It's fun but be prepared to stand around for a while until the ride begins. It's also a good time to bring your most creative costumes and/or bikes - if that is your thing. There were some funny ones last year.

My wife be taking pics. My son will be wearing my BF jersey, and I will be in a Light Blue jersey with a white chest stripe that says "Ray's Cycle". It's my son's first organized ride, so I thought he would feel special in the BF jersey.

I went at the last minute. Didn't see any BF jerseys though. It was handled much differently than last year.

What is the current record?

Doesn't sound good.... I had #1336 and got there towards the end. Anything is possible though.

By the way, I bought my mountain bike from Ray's. They're great!
