Is it ever not windy out by Pt. Reyes?
Sheesh, the wind today turned a nice ride into a tough ride. We started in Nicasio, and basically just headed out to the light house and back. Made sure we did the Olema hill, too. We got fantastic weather (except for the wind) - mostly sunny and no rain at all. We did 65 miles, about 4,600 feet of climbing. The headwinds coming back from the lighthouse were probably worth half again as much climbing!
I hope the memorial ride got similar weather.

Pt. Reyes without wind would be like New York City without people telling you to go f*** yourself.

I read this today, then go for a ride and had a steady 19mph headwind, with gusts to 30. Needless to say, I am not going to read any crash threads.

Learn to be one with the wind. And learn the regional bus schedules. Bus into the wind and sleigh ride home.

Wind is good. It blows all the smog over to the Central Valley. Without it, we would be Los Angeles. Just make sure you have the headwind on the way out and a tailwind on the way back.
