Am I NorCal or am I SoCal
Well I was born in Santa Clara, grew up in San Jose and Los Gatos and now I live in Los Osos on the Central Coast. Eh... I'll say NorCal since I'll probably be riding up in the old neighborhood on my new roadbike.
I'm a former mountain biker turned roadie that's been off the bike for longer than I care to think about. Watching the ToC this year kinda pushed me over the edge, well that and my brothers constant prodding to get a road bike. I'm pretty stoked on the new ride for sure! It's an '08 Cannondale Synapse 7 that I will be riding the heck out of this summer and upgrading components here and there. Fits me great and rides very similar to the $1800 '07 Specialized Roubaix I was looking at. I'm doing some little tweeks to it this weekend and I have a fitting on Tuesday next week to get it all dialed in. Right out of the box the fit is pretty darn good though.
Hope to make it up to the Bay Area for some group rides this summer.
ciao

Ya know, I've always wanted to lead a ride in the central coast. It could be a NorCal/SoCal ride. Not sure how many would make it, but I've always wanted to get NorCal and SoCal BF'ers together on a ride. I'm scheming ....

Thanks for the welcome all. I'm taking my baby out for her first real ride this weekend then I have a fitting at the LBS on Tuesday. I'm doing some little adjustments and getting use to the whole road bike thing.
Hey spingineer, I'd be up for a ride. There's lots of great places to do it here that's for sure. Just give me a little while to get my legs back.

If they'd drain the CA aqueduct it would make a good bike path from north to south. Boring, to be sure, but an expedient way to get from one end to the other.
Let's campaign for it.

Robby - you are in SoCal Im afraid.
Everyone knows that the dividing line between SoCal and NoCal runs along the top of the Cuesta Ridge in a straight line toward Morro Rock. Thats okay, you are welcome at our northcounty rides anytime.

I beg to differ. Where I'm from we all know the line takes a little jog to the south to include San Luis Obispo and Montana de Oro State Park, and to make up for it there is a little jog to the north on the other end so we don't have to take Bakersfield on our half of the state.
