Our first real date
So we've been seeing each other for a couple weeks now. Nothing serious, just a few commuting miles from home to work to Caltrain. My gf's out of the country and I thought this would be the perfect weekend to go on our first official date.
what a beauty. I picked her up from my house and took her to one of my favorite Chinese dim sum take out. Got some dim sum and went on our way.
You know it's a nice day when you can see the bridge. Took a left across the bridge and ate the dim sum with one of the best view in the bay area.
I ate everything because she's on a diet, I told her I didnt' want her to get fat.
I made her carry my water all day so I thought I should buy her something nice, so to Mike's bikes we go.
Got her a little light that fits perfectly under the saddle. I'm not sure if they had the Toupe in mind when they designed it, but the Frog LED light is perfect for it.
We started to head back and made a stop at the little Cafe for some refreshments. YUM!
So it's over. Since the Garmin didn't work at all today, I have no idea how far we went today, but I can't wait for our second date.

Nice ride!
I think you should go on a ride with Bostic and his bike.

Great pics. It was hot in LA today. Was stuck out in mid 80 degree weather. I should not have worn my black jersey today ...

The bike looks really good! I guess all the build issues have been resolved.
I wish I had documented my first date a couple weeks back...
One day we'll have to get Gary (steelblue) out with his Bottecchia and all go for a ride around the Bay Area when he completes his build!

of course. everyone is welcome. I've stopped commuting to work, so have to put in more miles on the weekends.
Anyone feel like organizing a Mnt. Tam ride? but we have to actually finish this time.
I would love to get the big 3 this year. I know Bostic, Blast and company already have Hamilton under their belt.

Mt. Tam should be done the long way like Pete's route. Over to Fairfax and up Bolinas road down to the dam and back out to the seven sisters. HW 1 has way too much traffic to make it an enjoyable ride on the weekends. Not to mention the road is in terrible shape.

Mt Tam would be fun. 'Lived here for a long time, but have yet to climb it. Why don't we just do Pete's ride, again? How long was it again?

Yea, that's the one I was thinking of. We stopped last time after the 7 sisters.

That team toupe saddle is hot! But how does it ride? You're the only person I know who has one. Pray tell...

speaking of red spokes, I'm thinking about selling them and buying some new shoes for my baby. A set of climbing wheels Soul S 2.0 and S 4.0. Then an old pair of Ksyrium SSC as backup.
But that red spoke looks soooo good.

I bought a Toupe saddle Saturday after the ride. I noticed the BG Alias has slowly destroyed all my cycling shorts on the inner sides . Glenn and Marco were right, the Toupe is more comfortable due to the slight flex of the shell.
