OT: Need housing help

So I just got email from a person who I was going to be renting from, and she is selling the house. So now I need to find a new place for the summer in San Jose and my Internship starts in two weeks.
I am hitting craigs list again, but if anyone know of a place for rent or someone who is renting please let me know through PM. I would like to pay under 1k. I'll be working in downtown San Jose from mid June to mid September.

Thanks.
UD

Yeah. Probably just being a roomate considering less then 1k budget.

Post your picture on Craigslist. You'd probably have many offers* quickly.

*to be a roommate, or a boy toy

Well considering my face now looks like a miss shaped pillsboury dough boy (tooth infection, tons of swelling) the thought of that becomes even more creepier. lol.

I'd check out nearby colleges and see if there are any subleases available. As a college student, I know lots of these exists (though unfortunately the only ones I know about are in LA)

I'm moving in to a really nice house in Palo Alto near Foothill and Arastradero in a couple weeks with some friends and we still have open bedrooms, a small one for $1010 and a medium-sized one for $1060. Move-in date is June 15th. Let me know if you're interested!

Can you PM me the cross street? I am trying to keep my commute time to the minimum. Thanks.

Downtown Palo Alto to downtown San Jose is nearly 20 miles. Commute times are about 30 minutes driving, 75 minutes biking, 16 minutes by Caltrain (between Diridon & University Ave on a bullet), about an hour by bus (VTA #522 down ECR). Caltrain monthly pass between PA and SJ is $106.

Palo Alto is cool especially if you have good roommates, but San Jose will be much less expensive if you can find a place.

True, although now that I have a motorcycle longer commute shouldn't be as bad. I am just trying to keep my options open. With less then two weeks before I need to move, "Beggers can't be choosers" as the saying goes.

In that case, Foothill & Arastadero shouldn't be bad at all, and you have excellent road cycling options from that location -- easy access to Portola Valley, Old La Honda, Page Mill, Stevens Canyon, etc. It's a nice location.

For the commute, it's a pretty straight shot to downtown SJ on I-280. I-280 is normally a commuter hell, but with the bike you can split the lanes and take the carpool lane. There are some good alternate routes via surface streets, too, if you want to vary the routine a little -- Stevens Creek, Homestead, Fremont/ECR, etc.

That location is ideal especially if you have a motorcycle, since commuter lanes will apply to you. You're also in cycling mecca there, and even next to Arastradero OSP, which is fun to get out to as well if you have a mtn bike. Half of the rides most of the peninsula clubs do go right past your house, you could fall out of bed and go ride..

What about 101, google maps a route through it. When I worked in Santa Clara I commuted on a bicycle so, not quite sure how bad 101 or 280 really are.

caltrain + riding your bike works great from PA to SJ.

You can also ride to work by bike using Central Expy

If you're gonna live in Palo Alto, you'll be taking 280 southbound. That's reverse commute, most people are going northbound. I used to go from Cupertino to downtown SJ in about 15 minutes, door to door.

From Foothill, 280 is your best bet and the most direct way to downtown SJ.
