Question about Eppies Race: Bike to Kayak Transition

I was asked today to fill in for a guy who got injured and can't do the bike portion for his team in Eppies. Can anyone tell me how far it is from the finish of the bike leg, to where the cyclist has to run in order to get to their team mate?

This is the footbridge: here

Where does the leg end, and where does one typically find their team mate? Should I wear my SPD cleated shoes, or should I be looking at a different pedal/shoe combo? I have no idea.

This should be .. interesting.

Thanks.

Come on. Of course I've read that page. I just found what I have above - I need to run from the staging area to wherever my guy is. I just need to know how far. I see in the pics of the cycling event that people are wearing traditional cycling shoes, I just am concerned. I have a physical limitation when it comes to running - one of the few things that hasn't fully recovered since breaking my leg :\.

If you're going to do any kind of running around look for your teammate, use SPD (or similar) mountain shoes. 12.5 miles is totally doable in SPD pedals.

Thanks. Turns out a coworker of mine did the bike leg at Eppies in the past so he gave me the info. I think I'll be good in my roadie shoes
