That is a fun one. Are you going to do it clock wise, or counter clockwise?

I'm probably going to roll early (7-ish) for a quick whip around Stevens Canyon - Montebello - Mt. Eden - Pierce - Prospect. I haven't climbed Montebello in ages so it'll be fun to see how slow I can go

PM before 9 p.m. tonight if interested...

I will be going clockwise. I found the ride in "Bay Area Biking." The book has been a good source of rides in the bay area. It sounds like a fun ride, too. The route in the book is only 20 miles, but since I haven't been out much this summer I think it will be perfect.

So do you want to meet us at the Bart Orinda 9am?

If you guys are coming to the East Bay, why don't you come a little earlier and meet us in Alameda at 9am? Would love to have you guys with us on the way out to Orinda. You can do additional mileage for the climb on Spruce and Wildcat Canyon. We're riding to Walnut Creek for Lisa, so It'd be nice to do the 3 Bears + maybe Pig Farm Hill (and part of jobob's century ride), BART back from Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill.

Kaiser Alameda medical offices
Park and Central
9am-ish start

Thanks for the offer, but I am taking someone to the airport in the morning. I am not sure when I will make there. Go ahead and start. I have basically took the last 7 months off, and wouldn't want to hold you guys back. Just wave when you pass the young guy on the side of the road who looks like he is going to die ;-)

I don't know the area at all, so I guess I'll have to rely on Pete for directions

Aarghh. This kills me -- right on my doorstep and I've got kid duty tomorrow AM. Closest I'll get to riding will be some early morning alpine TV.

Sounds good and it will be shorter for both of us to get there...Fruitvale Station, correct? Then Fruitvale tildan to park & Central. Sounds awsome!
I'll try to get to Fruitvale by 8:40
9am

Sounds good. I'll try to be either on the 8:29 or 8:44 train.

Yeah, lot chillier than I thought, but by the time we reached Grizzly Peak, the temps weren't too bad. Nothing that a base layer and arm warmers couldn't suffice.
