Mt Hamilton: possible rest/water stop at Grant Ranch

I saw this on my club (ACTC) email list:

"I stopped at the Grant Ranch entrance yesterday to get water from the faucet that is located to the right of the park entrance building. Ranger came over and asked me if I thought they should add benches, bicycle rack, etc to make a more formal reststop by the water source. I said yes. Use the water faucet when you are riding in the area and let the rangers know your opinion. They think there is enough usage to justify improving the spot."

Nice idea.

That's a great idea. I hope this ranger has the authority to make it happen.

Hopefully they won't charge for sitting on the bench or for a fill up of the water bottle.

I think this is it, right after the Quimby Rd junction. It's pretty easy to miss.

So going up it is on the right side about 7.5 miles from the start.
I'll have to check it out the next time I am up there.
Thanks.

Yep, that's it. It would be even better if they put a porta-pottie or two near there.

I usually go to the trailhead lot about 1/8 mile farther along Mt. Hamilton Rd on the left, there's a pp and a water fountain there.

There is a porta-potie on the other side of the ranger station/tollgate which looks new and clean. Right across the water fountain.
